Play group at the Rogers

We had a blast today at Cody's house, the girls did not want to leave. I am glad that there are fun people to hangout with and keep me and the girls busy during the day. Because of this we are not so lonely for John and again I count our blessings that we actually are staying here and that John is doing anesthesia. The Lord truelly new what we did not. We needed to stay here!!

Flower wishes

The girls both pick these flowers outside, this morning the girls were picking the flowers and blowing on them and making wishes. It was super cute and I was able to get some cool pics by the brick wall.

The girls ride their bikes round and round the playground just outside our apartments and try to race each other. Anya goes around 3 times for Nadia's 1 and they squeal and cheer each other on.

Swim time

The girls enjoyed their swim lessons, they had a blast. This is them waiting for their classes, they are usually running all over the place getting told off, but, a chance to get their picture taken always keeps them in one spot for a while.

Play dough fun again

Play Dough Time

It was great to see the girls play well together, they love playing with play dough and at the threat of taking it away the play like anles together. It is funny because Anya talks Nadia through everything and is very encouraging. "Oh that is wonderful sweetheart is constantly comming out of her mouth"

Nadia's belly flop off the diving board

The girls love their swim lessons and have really improved, Nadia loves jumping off the diving board, sometimes she is chicken but it is not often. She is so fearless and I am glad that she has the basics to keep her afloat if it came down to it

Marry Poppins

The girls love Mary Poppins and are always singing supercalafragalistic....anyways you all know the song. Well, this morning as I was cleaning Nadia proceeded to help me by wiping the table and then getting out the broom to sweep the floor. I was glad that she was distracted and playing quietly then I saw her start dancing with the broom and singing...."Chim chiminy Chim chiminy chim chim charu..."she was pretending to be a chimney sweep from Mary Poppins and was doing the song and dance. She was so cute and remembered the words that I couldn't help but laugh at her. I love seeing her use her imagination.

Later on today while I was at the computer Nadia walks up to me pulls on my pant leg and says looking up at me "SIR" another tug on the pants "SIR, can you change my bum". What is she Oliver Twist!! I enjoy seeing their personalities that are so different and especially how imaginative Nadia really is.

I have decided to post the funny things that the girls say as I am hopeless at keeping a journal and at least I will have this as a record.

A couple of days ago Anya started asking me about loose teeth. I guess a Friend of hers who is 5 or 6 has started getting loose teeth and had showed Anya. So here is the conversation.
(Anya) "mummy why do we lose our teeth?"

(Maria) When we get older everybody loses their baby teeth and big girl teeth come through.

(Anya) what do we do with the baby teeth?

(Maria)Well we put it under our pillow and the tooth fairy comes and gives us money for our teeth.

(Anya)" Why does the tooth fairy want our teeth?. "

Now this is a good question as teeth are not that appealing, but I told her that the tooth fairy loves teeth they are her favourite thing to have and that is why she pays us for the teeth."

(Anya) "after sitting there thinking for a while asks Is the tooth fairy really a real person or is she pretend?."
What can you say but the truth I only hope she does not ask me about Santa but anyways I still believe in Santa so we might be safe there.
Anyway after I told her that the tooth fairy was not a real person she paused again and frowned at me then said Mummy I think you are the one that put the money under my pillow. I proceeded to ignore her so she asked a little more loudly Mum are you the one that pretends to be the tooth fairy. I looked at her and said that this was one of those questions that I don't answer.....
She is too smart for her own good.

4th of July

Happy Fourth of July to all. We got up early and sat and watched the parade. We were at the end of the route and therefore the girls missed out on the lollie and Candy which was fine by me. We then went and had a BBQ and swim and stayed up to watch the fireworks. I was a nervous wreck the whole night as there were crazy people all around us lighting off fireworks and not being careful. John kept commenting on how when I was a kid I was probably running around and I needed to relax and let our kids enjoy the night, I know he was right but tht didn't stop my fretting. All in All the night was fun and I was the only one that got burnt.

Grand Canyon Photos

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is a sight to see and we were grateful to be able to go through the park and look at the amazing view. I read a qoute on one of the walls stating that "you truly understand your own insignificance and the divine hand in creation "when you see this sight. It is wonderful to know that there is a heavenly father that not only created us but also created the earth espeically for us.

On the road again

After we left Utah we decided to visit Dan and Angie in Tucson, Arizona. These are some of the landscapes we passed on our journey. We had a wonderful time and got to see lots of different things. The best thing about the trip was that we got to make some great memories, an example of one is "one thing that Anya and Nadia remember about our trip is not the Grand Canyon and all it's beauty, but that at the Grand Canyon they got to get an Indian bracelet." Go figure these girls are ALL GIRL !!

Travels

This summer we were able to travel around and visit all of John's family on the way to Utah we stopped at this arch, it was a beautiful day and the kids did great they are seasoned travellers. Anya wanted to climb to the top all by herself, she loves climbing things, mountians, cliff, dresser drawers. Nadia of course has to follow in her sisters footsteps unfortunately her legs are a little shorter than Anya's and she seem to surface from their adventures scratched up.

Swimming Lessons

Anya and Nadia have been taking swimming lessons, they are like little fishies and have no fear. We are glad that they are learning to swim.
