Maria and I both remembered raising monarch butterflies as children. Lubbock, apparently, isn't home to monarchs or any other pretty butterflies. We had to go mail order. After placing the chrysalis' in the enclosure they came out pretty quickly. The girls couldn't have been more excited. Before church we let them release the butterflies and I was able to capture a few nice shots.

We just did that with the kids right before Dane was born. They were pretty interested in it, too. We let them go in the backyard. The kids had a good time, but we did have a hard time preventing Haven from loving them to death, literally. We're bummed that the Chiara/Servino bbq didn't work out in August, but we're gonna keep harrassing you guys til we get to party! :)
